JERROLDINE HARMSEN (nee Shortt) Arts'55 enjoyed an otherwise excellent summer, then died 31 August 2023 after a day in Victoria Hospital at London, Ontario. Jeri was a Queen's graduate, Ontario naturalist and internationally recognized Art Educator, wife, mother and grandmother. Jeri worked at the Agnes Etherington Art Centre as Education Officer, where she created exhibition-based programs for primary school children, seniors, artists and students. She loved her family and farmhouse, swimming & skating, world travel & peoples, gambas & sauvignon blanc, art & poetry, chocolate ice-cream and natural history. Jeri took half the beach home with her. She adored animals be they cute or not. She took a kind interest in everybody and great joy in her friends. Predeceased by her husband, Prof. Rudolf Harmsen, she is survived by their sons Douglas & Leif Harmsen, son-in-law Mario Longtin, daughter-in-law Stephanie Cozart and granddaughter Gwendolyn Harmsen who knew her as "Baba".
